In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 52%, and the dew point is near 53 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 41%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. Current drying conditions are fair west, fair central, and good east. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph with gusts at 18 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. UKAWC Drought Page Kentucky Climate Summary Kentucky Climate Summary For the Period 04-19-2024 to 04-25-2024 Temperatures for the period averaged 54 degrees across the state which was 5 degrees cooler than normal and 12 degrees cooler than the previous period. High temperatures averaged from 66 in the West to 66 in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 6 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 5 degrees cooler than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 44 degrees in the West to 44 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 5 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 1 degrees cooler than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period was 76 degrees at MIDDLESBORO AWOS and the extreme low was 28 degrees at BRANDENBURG 4SW.Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 0.47 inches statewide which was 0.75 inches below normal and 39% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 0.67 inches, Central 0.61 inches, Bluegrass 0.29 inches and East 0.31 inches, which was 0.66, 0.66, 0.86 and 0.8 inches below normal.
