Other than some isolated showers/storms across Southern Kentucky tomorrow, look for most to remain dry until chances increase Tuesday night and into Wednesday. This looks to signal the start of yet another active period ahead. Temperatures look to run below normal through Thursday, before seeing a warming trend heading into the holiday weekend.

Across Kentucky...temperatures are near 74 degrees west, near 68 degrees central, and near 66 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 32%, and the dew point is near 43 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 45%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 63%, and the dew point is near 53 degrees. Current drying conditions are good west, good central, and fair east. The livestock heat stress category is no stress west, no stress central, and no stress east. Winds are variable at 3 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 6 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are calm east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 74 degrees at Paducah. The lowest temperature is 64 degrees at Somerset.

 DAY ONE  Tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Tuesday through Sunday.

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms are possible Wednesday as
low pressure moves through the region. This low pressure will produce
gusty winds and the stronger storms may also produce localized
flooding, especially should they fall over areas that received heavy
rainfall a few days ago. 

Chances for storms return for the holiday weekend as a stationary
frontal boundary somewhere over the Ohio Valley serves as a focus for

Temperatures for the period averaged 74 degrees across the state which was 9 degrees warmer than normal and 10 degrees warmer than the previous period. High temperatures averaged from 84 in the West to 83 in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 6 degrees warmer than normal in the West to 6 degrees warmer than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 66 degrees in the West to 62 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 10 degrees warmer than normal in the West to 12 degrees warmer than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period was 92 degrees at EVANSVILLE ASOS and the extreme low was 50 degrees at BARBOURVILLE 3E.

Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 1.31 inches statewide which was 0.18 inches above normal and 115% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 0.72 inches, Central 1.79 inches, Bluegrass 1.29 inches and East 1.45 inches, which was -0.43, 0.60, 0.21 and 0.33 inches respectively from normal. By station, precipitation totals ranged from a low of 0.02 inches at PADUCAH ASOS to a high of 5.99 inches at SCOTTSVILLE 2W.

Denver CO was drenched with 6.53 inches of rain in 24 hours, an all-time

The temperature at Lewiston ME soared to 101 degrees. It was the hottest
temperature ever recorded in New England during the month of May. (David
A powerful tornado virtually wiped the small southwest Texas community of
Saragosa off the map. The twister destroyed eighty- five percent of the
structures in the town killing thirty persons and injuring 121 others in
the town of population 183. The tornado hurled trucks and autos through
adobe and wood- frame homes, with some vehicles blown 500 feet. (The
