Current sky conditions are mostly sunny west, partly sunny central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 40%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 70%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 64%, and the dew point is near 52 degrees. Current drying conditions are good west, fair central, and fair east. Winds are from the southeast at 8 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 14 mph with gusts at 20 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 5 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 82 degrees at Paducah and Hopkinsville. A few severe storms with a damaging wind and hail threat will be possible mainly over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Saturday through Thursday More widespread thunderstorms will push eastward across the region beginning late Sunday and continuing through Monday. Some of the initial storms Sunday afternoon and evening could be severe over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Heavy rainfall and flooding will also be more of a concern Sunday night and Monday. South winds will gust 30 to 40 mph at times on Sunday. SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT Spotter activation cannot be ruled out over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois late this afternoon into tonight, and again late Sunday afternoon through Sunday night.

UKAWC Drought Page Kentucky Climate Summary Kentucky Climate Summary For the Period 04-19-2024 to 04-25-2024 Temperatures for the period averaged 54 degrees across the state which was 5 degrees cooler than normal and 12 degrees cooler than the previous period. High temperatures averaged from 66 in the West to 66 in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 6 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 5 degrees cooler than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 44 degrees in the West to 44 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 5 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 1 degrees cooler than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period was 76 degrees at MIDDLESBORO AWOS and the extreme low was 28 degrees at BRANDENBURG 4SW.Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 0.47 inches statewide which was 0.75 inches below normal and 39% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 0.67 inches, Central 0.61 inches, Bluegrass 0.29 inches and East 0.31 inches, which was 0.66, 0.66, 0.86 and 0.8 inches below normal.
