Isolated storms have popped up across Kentucky during the heat of the afternoon. Look
for these storms to persist during the evening hours, before tapering overnight. Storms
will continue to be capable of producing heavy rain as the state sits in a very moist
Speaking of heat, highs have reached into the upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon with
heat indices around 100 for much of Kentucky. This has pushed the livestock heat stress
index into the Danger category this afternoon. This will likely be the case again tomorrow,
before a bit more clouds and more storm coverage keeps temperatures a bit lower over the
second half of the week.
