The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Adair County in south central Kentucky...
  North Central Russell County in south central Kentucky...

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 651 PM CDT, Emergency Management reported thunderstorms 
  produced heavy rain that has caused Sulphur Creek to flood, 
  blocking and damaging roadways. Water continues to rise. The water 
  is headed towards Russell Creek in Columbia. Between 4 and 6.5 
  inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbia, Russell Springs, Craycraft, Ozark, Christine, Garlin, 
  Purdy, Gentrys Mill, Joppa and Ella.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
