Isolated showers and thunderstorms have started to develop over the Sacramento Mountains and the Gila region. These storms are expected to get stronger through the remainder of the afternoon and spread onto the lowlands. Some of these storms will be severe with hail over an inch in diameter, wind gusts over 60 mph and locally heavy rain which could lead to localized flooding. Anybody outdoors this afternoon and evening across southern New Mexico should be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions.
