...NUMEROUS RAIN SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ON MONDAY...
A STRONG PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INLAND ON MONDAY THAT
WILL BRING NUMEROUS RAIN SHOWERS OVER MOST OF EASTERN WASHINGTON
AND EASTERN OREGON. ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO
EXPECTED FROM THE BLUE MOUNTAINS AND THE JOHN DAY BASIN EAST TO THE
IDAHO BORDER. A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD BE STRONG WITH VERY
HEAVY RAIN...HAIL...AND GUSTY WINDS POSSIBLE...PARTICULARLY IN
UNION AND WALLOWA COUNTIES. THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT MOISTURE
AND A LOT OF ENERGY WITH THIS SYSTEM...THEREFORE RAINFALL AMOUNTS
OF ONE HALF TO ONE INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN SOME AREAS. IN
ADDITION...IT WILL BE UNSEASONABLY COOL AND LOCALLY WINDY.
CAMPERS...HIKERS...AND OTHER OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS SHOULD BE
PREPARED FOR THIS WET WEATHER SYSTEM AND THE THREAT FOR ISOLATED STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS. IF YOU OBSERVE SHARP RISES ALONG CREEKS AND
STREAMS DUE TO HEAVY RAIN...SEEK HIGHER GROUND. SEEK SHELTER IF
THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH YOUR AREA.
