887 FXUS65 KFGZ 272325 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 425 PM MST Sat Apr 27 2024 .SYNOPSIS...Low pressure will head east tonight, yielding fair skies, warm daily temperatures, and relatively light winds for the entirety of next week. && .DISCUSSION...The low pressure system that brought hefty amounts of snow to some in the high country last night continues to head east. But before it completely departs, it will kick off one more round of scattered showers and thunderstorms today. Snow levels are much higher today than they were last night, so we do not expect any additional snowfall accumulations for the populated areas. However, some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon could produce accumulating graupel. As a result, travelers should continue to exercise extra caution on the roadways. As high pressure builds in the coming days, temperatures will rise, becoming slightly above normal by Monday. Sunny skies will dominate and southwest breezes will remain pretty tame. Outside of the highest peaks, any snow that remains on the ground after today will not last long. A bit more uncertainty enters the forecast late next week as a more active pattern sets up over the West. However, the storm track looks to stay to our north, which is typical of this time of year. Periods of gusty winds are the most likely consequence for Arizona. Be sure to stay tuned for updates. && .AVIATION...Sunday 28/00Z through Monday 29/00Z...MVFR to VFR conditions for most west of a line from KPAN KFLG KPGA.
