(Today through Monday) Issued at 343 AM EDT Sun Apr 28 2024 That's a lot of words, too bad I ain't readin' em: -Quiet weather to finish out the weekend. -Dewpoints will be on the rise tomorrow as the flow becomes more southerly. Another beautiful day today with SE winds and clear skies. Temps will be in the mid 70s to low 80s across the CWA with minimum RH values falling into the upper 40s and low 50s. While nice weather is expected to continue, once the Bermuda high has a chance to get settled off the GA coast, we'll start to see more southerly flow will will gradually start to increase our dewpoints as we come up into the beginning of the long term. Vaughn && .LONG TERM... (Monday night through Saturday) Issued at 343 AM EDT Sun Apr 28 2024 Looking at the forecast beginning Tuesday the overall sfc high pressure retreats a tad to the east as a midlevel shortwave trough moves through north Georgia. This shortwave indicates our next change for precip mainly for areas north of ATL, but wouldn't be surprised to see showers and a few isolated thunderstorms affect west central GA and portions south of ATL metro. CAPE values generally are progged to be ~500 J/kg or less mainly due to peak heating which would support isolated to scattered thunderstorms for Tuesday. Following the shortwave, the overall ridging pattern takes effect again resulting in the warmest temps of the year as many areas in central GA are forecast to either reach their first 90 degree day or get very close on Wednesday and Thursday. Max temps will overall be 10-12 degrees above normal for this time of year. Friday is our next decent chance at rain as a low pressure system moves northward into the great lakes by the weekend, dragging a sfc cold front into our area Friday into Saturday. With the temps in the mid to upper 80s Friday, this could be an early return to the pulse convection season as showers and scattered thunderstorms look to be the primary threat into the weekend. The cold front will bring down max Ts only marginally unfortunately with temps being only 5-6 degrees above normal instead of 10-12 degrees. Hernandez && .AVIATION...
