617 FNUS56 KLOX 202032 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 132 PM PDT Mon May 20 2024 .DISCUSSION... Tonight through Wednesday, moderate onshore flow will persist across the area. The marine inversion will remain rather deep through Tuesday morning with stratus pushing into the coastal slopes tonight and Tuesday morning. For Tuesday night and Wednesday, the stratus is not expected to push as far inland, mainly impacting the coastal valleys. Temperatures will exhibit a gradual warming trend through Wednesday. Relative humidity will remain at moderate to high levels west of the mountains with low to moderate humidity levels across interior sections. Gusty southwesterly winds will impact interior sections this afternoon and evening with gusts around 50 mph across the Antelope Valley foothills. Winds will be much weaker Tuesday afternoon and evening, but will increase again during the day on Wednesday. For Thursday through Saturday, the marine inversion is expected to deepen again with stratus pushing into the coastal slopes each night and morning. During this period, cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity is expected. Gusty southwesterly winds will continue to impact interior sections each afternoon and evening.
