Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Wyoming
Based on observations at 1100pm MDT, Friday April 26, 2024

Across Wyoming...temperatures are near 53 degrees north, near 42 degrees central, and near 50 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, cloudy central, and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 52%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 92%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 50%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. Winds are from the west at 9 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 12 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the north at 9 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 53 degrees at SHERIDAN. The lowest temperature is 36 degrees at PINEDALE, LK YELLOWSTONE, and BIG PINEY.

   Winter Storm Warning for the Eastern Wind River Range from
tonight through Saturday evening  

   Winter Weather Advisory for the Absarokas from this afternoon
through Saturday afternoon  

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms across the area today, most
numerous in central and southern Wyoming. 

Moderate to heavy snow likely tonight in the Wind River Range and
Absarokas. Please see Winter Weather products for details.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday  Showers and mountain snow continuing.

Monday through Wednesday  Strong wind possible.

Snow showers. Rain showers and scattered thunderstorms late this evening, then rain showers with isolated thunderstorms after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 10 inches. Breezy with lows in the upper 20s. Northeast winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, increasing to east 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

SATURDAY
Snow and rain showers. Isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. New snow accumulation up to 7 inches. Breezy with highs in the lower 40s. Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.

Mostly cloudy. Snow showers with possible rain showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then numerous snow showers and scattered rain showers after midnight. days with measurable precipitation, a record.

A destructive tornado swept across Rogers County and Mayes County in
Oklahoma. The tornado struck the town of Pryor killing 52 persons and
causing two million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)

A tornado tore through Green and Adair counties with F4 
damage in its wake. Two and a half million dollars in damage 
was done along the 14 mile long path. Six people were killed 
and 58 hurt. The twister dropped to earth near Bramlett and 
proceeded to Vester and Christine. The six fatalities 
occurred in the Mount Pleasant Church area along KY 551 north 
of Columbia. In Butler and Warren counties a tornado did F3 
damage, killing one person and costing two and a half million 
dollars. South View (Butler County) and Riverside (Warren 
County) were struck. A tornado of F1 strength injured 2 
people in Harrison County IN between Mauckport and Laconia. 
Debris from a demolished barn was carried a quarter mile. An 
F3 tornado did damage in Ohio and Butler counties. It touched 
down near Island Lake along Wysox Road in Ohio County and 
moved east near Logansport and Little Bend, lifting just 
outside of Morgantown. An asphalt shingle was found embedded 
two inches deep into an oak tree. An F4 tornado killed two 
people in Russell County. It began east of Russell Springs 
and moved through Salem to Faubush. The two fatalities 
occurred when a farm was swept away at Gosser Ridge near 
Dorena. At one point there were actually two distinct paths, 
as two funnels moved parallel to each other. (NWS Louisville)
