Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in West Virginia

Across West Virginia...temperatures are near 49 degrees north, near 51 degrees central, and near 43 degrees south. Current sky conditions are fair north, fair central, and fair south. In the north, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 20 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 22 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 36%, and the dew point is near 18 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 7 mph with gusts at 20 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the northwest at 7 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 9 mph with gusts at 18 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 52 degrees at Huntington. The lowest temperature is 43 degrees at Bluefield.

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
