Across West Virginia...temperatures are near 63 degrees north, near 72 degrees central, and near 68 degrees south. Current sky conditions are thunderstorms north, mostly cloudy central, and fair south. In the north, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 68%, and the dew point is near 61 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 58%, and the dew point is near 53 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress north, no stress central, and no stress south. Winds are from the north at 7 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to thunderstorms. Winds are from the southwest at 10 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 10 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 74 degrees at Huntington. The lowest temperature is 56 degrees at Wheeling.

Strong storms and possibly a severe storm is possible after 3pm this
afternoon. Heavy rainfall at times may lead to minor flooding as 
well.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday.

MAY 9TH...HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS
...1966...
Record snows fell in the northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania,
including 3.1 inches at Pittsburgh PA and 5.4 inches at Youngstown OH. Snow
also extended across parts of New York State, with eight inches reported in
the southern Adirondacks. (The Weather Channel)
...1977...
A late season snowstorm hit parts of Pennsylvania, New York State, and
southern and central New England. Heavier snowfall totals included 27
inches at Slide Mountain NY and 20 inches at Norwalk CT. At Boston it was
the first May snow in 107 years of records. The heavy wet snow caused
extensive damage to trees and power lines. The homes of half a million
