Most of the rain has cleared the area late this morning with just
a small band of showers across the Upper Cumberland. Satellite
imagery does show some breaks in the clouds which should make for
a nice rest of the day as temperatures warm into the upper 70's or
low 80's. Overall, a quiet weekend still looks to be in store
despite the active pattern setting up to our west. This is thanks
to upper-level ridging building overhead, keeping the area dry and
warm. High temperatures are expected to warm into the low to
mid-80's each afternoon Saturday and Sunday. Winds will be gusty,
especially on Saturday, thanks to a decent pressure gradient
between the trough to our west and the ridging to our east. Winds
should stay below advisory criteria though with gusts of 20-30 mph
with perhaps occasional gusts near 35 mph.

Across Tennessee...temperatures are near 82 degrees west and near 83 degrees central. Current sky conditions are partly sunny west and partly sunny central. In the west, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 44%, and the dew point is near 59 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 17 mph with gusts at 26 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 16 mph with gusts at 28 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are unavailable east. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 84 degrees at Union City, Selmer, Savannah, Memphis NWS, Lexington, Jackson, and Bolivar. The lowest temperature is 82 degrees at Paris, Memphis International Airport, Huntingdon, and Clarksville.

APRIL 26TH HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS ...1834... Killer frosts were reported in the Deep South. The frost was quite severe around Huntsville AL, and highlighted a backward spring in the South that year.
