Look for mainly dry conditions across the region today with
highs in the 50s and 60s. Rain chances will increase over western
South Dakota this afternoon. Rain will then spread across the
region tonight and Friday. There may be some isolated afternoon
and evening thunderstorms over the eastern Dakotas and Minnesota
Friday. Highs Friday will range from the mid 50s over western
North Dakota, to the mid 70s across southern South Dakota and
southern Minnesota. The weekend will start out dry across most of
the region Saturday but showers and thunderstorms will enter the
forecast again Sunday and Monday.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in South Dakota
Based on observations at 400am CDT, Thursday May 23, 2019

Across South Dakota...temperatures are near 42 degrees west, near 46 degrees central, and near 49 degrees east. Current sky conditions are not available west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 82%, and the dew point is near 37 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 93%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 90%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress west, no stress central, and no stress east. Winds are from the west at 3 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to not available. Winds are from the west at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 6 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 49 degrees at HURON and BROOKINGS.
