Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue across western South
Dakota and parts of southern and eastern North Dakota tonight. 
These showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight through 
Tuesday evening. 

Wednesday through the end of the work week will see significantly 
cooler temperatures below seasonal averages. Chances for light 
rain will also linger through the end of the work week. Northern 
portions of the region may even see periods of light snow at 
times.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

Fire danger will reach the very high category today thanks to mild 
temperatures, low humidity and a southeast wind gusting from 30 to 
40mph. Any burns or fires from Sunday that have not been fully 
extinguished can be expected to flare back up when the winds pick up 
and humidity drops. 

Thunderstorms will move up from south central South Dakota this
afternoon with the risk for hail and strong winds, however as these
storms continue northwards and become more widespread this evening 
and overnight, they are expected to weaken significantly. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Tuesday through Sunday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
