Regional Weather Forecast National Weather Service Bismarck ND 708 PM CDT Thu Mar 28 2024 /608 PM MDT Thu Mar 28 2024/ A low pressure system will bring a mixed bag of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow to eastern Montana, North Dakota and northern South Dakota tonight into Friday and then tracking across the eastern Dakotas and Minnesota into Friday night. This system may impact travel with light to moderate snow accumulations possible along the International Border late tonight through Friday, and icy roadways farther south mostly after midnight tonight through Friday morning. If you have travel plans tonight through Friday, be sure to check the latest road conditions before you leave. Lows tonight will range from the single digits and teens over Minnesota, to the mid and upper 20s west. Highs Friday will range from the 30s north to 40s south. Another system moves through the region late Saturday through Sunday, this system looks to be tracking more west to east across South Dakota and possibly into southern North Dakota with mainly snow north and rain south. Late in the weekend and into early next week, another system may impact the Central Plains and southern portions of the Northern Plains. Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
