Areas west of I99 and north of I80 will have multiple rounds of 
snow flurries/showers through Thursday. The southeast will have 
variable cloudiness, but will generally stay dry through the same
period. Colder then normal temperatures through Wednesday morning will
be more uncomfortable with gusty west to northwest winds.

Snow accumulation will be confined to the higher elevations of 
the northern and western mountains. Just a few inches of snow will
build up over the next few days in the lake effect snow belt with
just an occasional dusting to an inch in the Laurel Highlands and
northern Alleghenies.

Lows tonight will be below freezing everywhere across the 
Commonwealth, running between the lower 20s in the northwest to
the lower 30s in the piedmont region. Highs on Tuesday will be
slightly milder running from the mid 30s across the northern tier
counties to the mid 40s across the southern tier counties. Expect
milder temperatures on Wednesday before turning colder again

Across Pennsylvania...temperatures are near 31 degrees west, near 30 degrees central, and near 40 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 69%, and the dew point is near 22 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 69%, and the dew point is near 21 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 17 degrees. Winds are coming from the west at 14 mph with gusts at 20 mph in the west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are coming from the west at 12 mph in the central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are coming from the northwest at 17 mph in the east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 40 degrees at Philadelphia and North Phila. The lowest temperature is 25 degrees at Johnstown.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS
...1925...
The great "Tri-State Tornado" occurred, the most deadly tornado in U.S.
history. The tornado claimed 695 lives (including 234 at Murphysboro IL and
148 at West Frankfort IL), and caused seventeen million dollars property
damage. It cut a swath of destruction 219 miles long and as much as a mile
wide from east central Missouri to southern Indiana between 1 PM and 4 PM.
The tornado leveled a school in West Frankfort IL, and picked up sixteen
students setting them down unharmed 150 yards away. Seven other tornadoes
claimed an additional 97 lives that day. (David Ludlum)

High winds accompanied a low pressure system from the Rocky Mountains to
the Great Lakes. Winds gusted to 100 mph at Hastings NE, and reached 115
mph at Hays KS. High winds caused two million dollars damage in Kansas.
Fire burned 50,000 forest acres in eastern Oklahoma. (17th-19th) (The
