Current sky conditions are sunny west, sunny central, and sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 73%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 96%, and the dew point is near 35 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 76%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. Winds are calm west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 5 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The wind chill is near 32 degrees central. Winds are calm east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 44 degrees at MUSKOGEE, LAWTON/FT SILL, and ARDMORE. The lowest temperature is 34 degrees at WOODRING.

DISCUSSION A limited fire weather danger may develop across Osage and Pawnee counties this afternoon as south winds begin to increase and humidity values fall to near 30 percent. South winds will continue to increase overnight, with a few gusts approaching 30 miles an hour after midnight. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT Spotter Activation Not Expected. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Friday through Wednesday. FRIDAY and SATURDAY High Wind Potential. SUNDAY and MONDAY Thunderstorm Potential High Wind Potential. TUESDAY High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION Fire weather concerns will increase significantly Friday, especially across northeast Oklahoma, with gusty south winds, warm temperatures, and low humidity values. Increasing high level cloud cover may somewhat offset these otherwise favorable conditions. Moisture will increase over the weekend, and winds will not be quite as strong, which will temper fire weather concerns to some degree. Thunderstorm chances return late Sunday night and Monday, with an increasing potential for severe storms Monday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves into the area from the northwest. Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel) ...1920... The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum) ...1997... Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
