High pressure will drift east to the New England coastline tonight 
maintaining dry weather. A warm front will lift across the region
this weekend bringing some showers and perhaps a few rumbles of
thunder, especially Saturday. A warming trend this weekend into
early next week will result in late spring to summerlike warmth
both Sunday and Monday. A cold front will bring our next chance
for showers and a few thunderstorms Monday night and Tuesday.

In the west, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 21%, and the dew point is near 21 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 24 degrees. Winds are coming from the northeast at 21 mph in the west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are coming from the northeast at 9 mph in the central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are coming from the south at 15 mph in the east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at Elmira. The lowest temperature is 50 degrees at Islip.

produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
