.KEY MESSAGES...

- Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected
  through the weekend. 

- Severe weather appears likely (>80% chance) during the 
  afternoon and evening hours on both Friday, Saturday, and 
  perhaps Sunday. 

- Flash flooding is also a concern due to the potential for 
  repeated thunderstorm activity over the same areas.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Nebraska
Based on observations at 300am CDT, Friday April 26, 2024

Across Nebraska...temperatures are near 50 degrees west, near 52 degrees central, and near 53 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, light rain central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 46%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 95%, and the dew point is near 51 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 7 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 16 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the southeast at 20 mph with gusts at 26 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 59 degrees at HEBRON. The lowest temperature is RAIN degrees at VALENTINE and HASTINGS.

 DAY ONE  TODAY AND TONIGHT  

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY  

There is a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms over much of the
region Saturday afternoon and evening. Threats do include large hail,
damaging winds and even tornadoes. Please stay tuned for further
updates.

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
