In the west, relative humidity is near 18%, and the dew point is near 22 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 27%, and the dew point is near 30 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 23%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. Winds are from the west at 12 mph with gusts at 23 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
