Across Nebraska...temperatures are near 59 degrees west, near 60 degrees central, and near 61 degrees east. Current sky conditions are partly sunny west, sunny central, and mostly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 22%, and the dew point is near 20 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 33%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 38%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 13 mph with gusts at 21 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 13 mph with gusts at 18 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 65 degrees at FALLS CITY. The lowest temperature is 33 degrees at WAYNE.

forecast across much of far eastern Colorado this afternoon. Use
caution with any activities that may involve sparks and be aware of
any local burn bans.

Near critical to potentially critical fire weather conditions are 
anticipated Sunday afternoon generally south of a line from Flagler
to Leoti.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
