Freezing rain across the southern half of North Dakota and
northern South Dakota tonight. Possibly heavy snow will fall in
north central North Dakota through Friday afternoon.

Temperatures in the region will then warm back to above average 
through the weekend and into next week. This weekend another 
system will impact South Dakota and Minnesota.

Across North Dakota...temperatures are near 35 degrees west, near 38 degrees central, and near 39 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, mostly sunny central, and sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 66%, and the dew point is near 25 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 52%, and the dew point is near 22 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 16 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 20 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 13 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 3 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

A quick moving system will bring a wintry mix to eastern North 
Dakota into northwest Minnesota Friday into Saturday morning. 
There is a 30% chance for minor winter impacts from light snow and
ice accumulations. The chance for more substantial, warning level
impacts remains very low, less than 10%.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)

Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
