A low pressure system has brought snow to eastern Montana, North 
Dakota this morning and will continue northeastward into eastern
North Dakota this afternoon. This system may impact travel with 
light to moderate snow accumulations possible across the region with
the greatest likely over northern and central North Dakota. If 
you have travel plans, be sure to check the latest road 
conditions before you leave. Highs today will range from the 30s 
north to 40s south. 

Another system moves through the region late Saturday through 
Sunday, this system looks to be tracking west to east across 
South Dakota and possibly into southern North Dakota with mainly 
snow north and rain south. Late in the weekend and into early next
week another system may impact the Central Plains and southern 
portions of the Northern Plains. Be sure to keep up to date with 
the latest forecasts through the Holiday Weekend.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in North Dakota
Based on observations at 1000am CDT, Friday March 29, 2024

Across North Dakota...temperatures are near 34 degrees west, near 29 degrees central, and near 36 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 85%, and the dew point is near 30 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 82%, and the dew point is near 24 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 50%, and the dew point is near 19 degrees. Winds are from the west at 16 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the east at 6 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 14 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 36 degrees at YANKTON and HETTINGER ARPT. The lowest temperature is 27 degrees at MINOT AFB and MINOT.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight

A band of snow, sometimes moderate to heavy at times and mixing
with some light freezing rain, will push into eastern North Dakota
and western Minnesota this morning. Quick accumulations of 1 to 4
inches of snow and potentially slick roads could make for a
hazardous morning commute in spots. Snow will continue into the
later morning and afternoon, but impacts will be limited by warm 
ground temperatures.

After sunset, some additional light freezing drizzle could linger
behind the snow and bring slick travel conditions into Friday 
night. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.
