Across North Carolina...temperatures are near 69 degrees west, near 69 degrees central, and near 58 degrees east. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny west, partly sunny central, and partly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 78%, and the dew point is near 62 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 65%, and the dew point is near 57 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 80%, and the dew point is near 52 degrees. Winds are variable at 3 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are variable at 5 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northeast at 10 mph with gusts at 22 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 80 degrees at Charlotte. The lowest temperature is 52 degrees at Manteo.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move into the western 
Piedmont by mid afternoon today, and move eastward across central 
North Carolina through the evening. A few of these storms may become
strong to severe, with a primary threat of damaging straight line 
winds. Large hail is also possible.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
