Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in North Carolina
Based on observations at 100pm EDT, Thursday March 28, 2024

Across North Carolina...temperatures are near 54 degrees west, near 53 degrees central, and near 50 degrees east. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny west, cloudy central, and heavy rain east. In the west, relative humidity is near 34%, and the dew point is near 26 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 61%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. Winds are from the north at 18 mph with gusts at 29 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the north at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the north at 10 mph with gusts at 23 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and heavy rain. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 63 degrees at Charlotte. The lowest temperature is 46 degrees at Jefferson.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
