Across North Carolina...temperatures are near 55 degrees west, near 50 degrees central, and near 60 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and mostly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 80%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 80%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 83%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. Winds are from the south at 6 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 10 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northeast at 10 mph with gusts at 22 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 60 degrees at Cape Hatteras. The lowest temperature is 46 degrees at Jefferson.

around Huntsville AL, and highlighted a backward spring in the South that

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
