.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 417 AM CDT Fri Mar 29 2024

Through tonight: Quiet weather conditions with seasonable
temperatures can be expected over the next 24 hours as a surface
ridge continues to shift eastward across the Deep South. High
clouds will increase tonight as a mid level shortwave passes well
north of the area, but with dry conditions throughout most of the
column, no rain is in the cards. /DL/

Saturday through Thursday....

The extended forecast will start off quiet with a gradual warming
trend as an upper level ridge and surface high pressure continues
to influence our weather over the weekend into Monday. Showers
and thunderstorm chances return to the CWA Tuesday as a cold
front approaches the region.

An upper-level ridge over majority of the eastern CONUS along
with a surface high pressure center over FL will keep conditions
quiet and dry throughout the weekend. Southerly flow is expected
to advect moisture and warmer air into the area. As the ridge and
surface high pressure amplifies, a warming trend is expected over
the weekend. As a result, expect above-average high temperatures
in the upper 70s to middle 80s into Monday.

Monday evening, an positively-tilted trough will push a low
pressure center toward the Mid-West and the associated cold front
will progress towards the CWA. Showers and thunderstorm chances
will return on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Uncertainty remains
with the potential for severe weather for our area so severe
storms can't be ruled out at this time. Updates will be provided
as the system approaches. Post frontal passage will bring slightly
cooler temperatures than previous days with highs in the 60s to
near 70 degrees. /SW/
