Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Missouri
Based on observations at 500pm CDT, Thursday April 18, 2024

Across Missouri...temperatures are near 49 degrees north, near 63 degrees central, and near 82 degrees south. Current sky conditions are light rain north, cloudy central, and partly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 97%, and the dew point is near 48 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 78%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 60 degrees. There is patchy fog north. Winds are from the north at 15 mph with gusts at 28 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the north at 20 mph with gusts at 29 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 9 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 82 degrees at West Plains. The lowest temperature is 49 degrees at Kirksville.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected  

  Limited tornado risk.
  Elevated hail risk.
  Elevated thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Significant lightning risk.
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION  

 Strong to severe thunderstorms will occur along a cold front
 moving west to east through the Ozarks. Hail to the size of 
 tennis balls and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph will be the 
 main risks. The best chances for severe weather will be in 
 central and south central Missouri this afternoon.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday.

  Non-severe thunderstorms will be possible Monday night into
  Wednesday.

 Spotter activation may be needed later today or tonight.
