Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon through the late evening hours across areas generally near and north of the I-20 Corridor of Northeast Texas and Northern Louisiana which includes Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts and locally heavy downpours will be the greatest threat with severe weather through this evening. The severe thunderstorm threat should diminish late tonight. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Friday through Wednesday. While the severe weather threat should diminish Friday through the weekend, an upper level storm system will move our way late Friday Night. This storm system will likely produce periods of heavy rainfall across our region Saturday through Saturday Night before the storm system moves east of our region on Sunday. Look for widespread rainfall amounts of one to three inches possible with isolated higher amounts. This could result in additional rises on area waterways.
