mid-40s under sunny skies. Later this afternoon, temperature
maximums will approach the lower 70s. With weather and observed 
trends continuing as anticipated, forecast grid adjustments were

Across Louisiana...temperatures are near 61 degrees south. Current sky condition is sunny south. In the south, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 41 degrees. Winds are unavailable north. Winds are unavailable central. Winds are coming from the north at 9 mph in the south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 61 degrees at Slidell and N.O. INTL ARPT. The lowest temperature is 59 degrees at Baton Rouge.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday.

We can expect a nice warming trend through the Easter weekend.
Temperatures will peak on Monday ahead of our next cool front early 
on Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will bring the first rain to 
the new month early next week. The Storm Prediction Center has a 
Slight Risk outlook for day 5 for Monday daybreak to Tuesday 
daybreak. This area extends from Dallas to Indianapolis and drapes 
across our I-30 corridor. No other hazardous weather is expected at 
this time.

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
