Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 1000pm CDT, Friday April 26, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 56 degrees west, near 62 degrees central, and near 65 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, partly cloudy central, and clear east. In the west, relative humidity is near 69%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 60%, and the dew point is near 48 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 58%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. Winds are from the north at 6 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 6 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 9 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 75 degrees at Medicine Lodge. The lowest temperature is 53 degrees at Hill City.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

A risk of severe thunderstorms is expected Saturday afternoon into
the early evening primarily east of highway 283. Primary threats
will be up to 2 inch hail, damaging winds up to 70 mph and 
possibly isolated tornadoes.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected Saturday afternoon
west of highway 283 with winds south winds gusting up to 45 mph 
and with relative humidities between 10-15 percent.

Killer frosts were reported in the Deep South. The frost was quite severe
around Huntsville AL, and highlighted a backward spring in the South that

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
