Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 900am CDT, Thursday March 28, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 33 degrees west, near 40 degrees central, and near 45 degrees east. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny west, mostly sunny central, and sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 78%, and the dew point is near 27 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 89%, and the dew point is near 37 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 65%, and the dew point is near 34 degrees. Winds are from the west at 7 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 7 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 12 mph with gusts at 21 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 46 degrees at Topeka Billard. The lowest temperature is 33 degrees at Goodland.

portions of Rooks, Osborne, and Mitchell Counties.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
