Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 500am CDT, Friday March 29, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 38 degrees west, near 50 degrees central, and near 47 degrees east. Current sky conditions are clear west, clear central, and clear east. In the west, relative humidity is near 55%, and the dew point is near 23 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 77%, and the dew point is near 43 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 71%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. Winds are from the west at 10 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The wind chill is near 31 degrees west. Winds are from the south at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 10 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 55 degrees at Winfield, Topeka Billard, and Manhattan. The lowest temperature is 37 degrees at Garden City.

 DAY ONE  Today

Strong southwest winds will affect southeast Kansas this afternoon 
and early evening. See latest wind advisory for additional 
information.

Very high grassland fire danger is expected across the Flint Hills
and south central Kansas this afternoon and early evening.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

Chances for storms increase for Sunday night and more so Monday. In
addition, severe storm chances are also increasing for Monday 
afternoon and evening, especially for areas east of Interstate 135. 

Very high grassland fire danger is expected across portions of the
area Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, mainly during the afternoon.
