Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 400am CDT, Thursday April 25, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 55 degrees west, near 63 degrees central, and near 59 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 71%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 50%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 59%, and the dew point is near 45 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 18 mph with gusts at 30 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 10 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 65 degrees at Medicine Lodge and Liberal. The lowest temperature is 53 degrees at Topeka Forbes.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected  

  Limited lightning risk.

DISCUSSION  

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible over southeastern Kansas
into far southwestern Missouri late tonight into Thursday morning.
Cloud to ground lightning and locally heavy rainfall will be 
the main risk with the storms.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Thursday through Tuesday.

Showers and scattered non-severe thunderstorms will continue to 
develop and more across the area on Thursday.

Multiple rounds of storms will continue to track across the 
region at times from Friday into Sunday night. There will be the 
potential for severe weather with the storms Friday through the 
weekend. Heavy rainfall will also be possible with the storms and 
could lead to a localized flooding risk through the weekend.

 SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT  

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
