Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 61 degrees north, near 60 degrees central, and near 61 degrees south. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny north, partly sunny central, and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 29%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 43%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 41%, and the dew point is near 37 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 6 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 10 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 8 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at Metropolis. The lowest temperature is 30/ degrees at Northerly Island.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

A small chance of thunderstorms will spread slowly eastward across
southeast Missouri into southern Illinois and west Kentucky
through tonight. Lightning and a brief heavy downpour will be the
primary concerns.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible mainly over southeast 
Missouri and southern Illinois Friday through Saturday. A few
severe storms with a damaging wind and hail threat will be 
possible mainly over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.

More widespread thunderstorms will push eastward across the region
beginning late Sunday and continuing through Monday. Some of the 
initial storms Sunday afternoon and evening could be severe over 
southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Heavy rainfall and 
flooding will also be more of a concern Sunday night and Monday.

South winds will gust 30 to 40 mph at times on Sunday.

 SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT  

Spotter activation cannot be ruled out over southeast Missouri and
southern Illinois Friday afternoon into Friday night, and again
late Sunday afternoon through Sunday night.
