Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 56 degrees north, near 65 degrees central, and near 69 degrees south. Current sky conditions are light rain north, light rain central, and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 80%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 97%, and the dew point is near 64 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 75%, and the dew point is near 61 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph with gusts at 23 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the south at 17 mph with gusts at 25 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the southeast at 5 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 150/ degrees at Northerly Island. The lowest temperature is 49 degrees at Waukegan.

 DAY ONE  THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Gusty southeast winds will continue into the early evening,
occasionally reaching 35 to 45 mph.

Tonight, scattered thunderstorms are possible. A few of the
storms could produce large hail to around quarter size and 
damaging winds to 60 mph. The Storm Prediction Center has much 
of the Outlook area in a level 1 out of 5, or Marginal risk for 
severe weather, with a level 2 out of 5, or Slight risk for 
portions of eastern Iowa and northeast Missouri. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

Additional rounds of thunderstorms are expected late Saturday 
afternoon through Sunday. Severe weather will be possible with 
large hail and damaging winds the main threats. Tornadoes cannot be
ruled out, but they appear to be a lower threat at this time. The
rounds of heavy rainfall could eventually lead to some flooding 
issues as well. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire Outlook
area in a Slight risk, or level 2 out of 5 for Saturday. On 
Sunday, a Slight risk covers much of the area along and south of 
Interstate 80, with a Marginal risk to the north.

Spotter activation will likely be needed at times through
Sunday.
