Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 70 degrees north, near 75 degrees central, and near 77 degrees south. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny north, cloudy central, and mostly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 43%, and the dew point is near 47 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 51%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 71%, and the dew point is near 67 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress north, no stress central, and no stress south. Winds are variable at 5 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 10 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 9 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 110/ degrees at Northerly Island. The lowest temperature is 64 degrees at Pittsfield.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 5 PM CDT for parts of southeast
Missouri, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky. Refer to the
Tornado Watch for details. 

A Flood Watch is in effect for western Kentucky until 7 AM CDT
Thursday. Refer to the Flood Watch for details. 

An outbreak of severe thunderstorms is expected for much of the
region this afternoon and evening. Tornadoes, some of which could
be strong, destructive straight line winds, and very large hail
are all possible. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Thursday through Tuesday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
