Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 56 degrees north, near 53 degrees central, and near 67 degrees south. Current sky conditions are light rain north, light rain central, and fair south. In the north, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 86%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 65%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 15 mph with gusts at 24 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the east at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds and light rain. Winds are from the south at 13 mph with gusts at 23 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 100/ degrees at Northerly Island. The lowest temperature is 45 degrees at Waukegan.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

Showers and a few non-severe storms are possible through the 
afternoon. Locally heavy rain resulting in ponding of water is
possible along with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. 

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this evening,
with a threat of large hail and damaging winds, as well as locally
heavy rain.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday.

Additional thunderstorms are expected Saturday through Sunday night,
which may also become severe. The timing of this severe weather 
threat is more uncertain during this period.

South winds will gust from 30 to 40 mph on Saturday and Sunday.

 SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT  

Spotter activation may be needed this evening.

Expected storm motion is toward the northeast around 50 mph.
