Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 50 degrees north and near 57 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 86%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 57 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 8 mph with gusts at 20 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are unavailable central. Winds are variable at 7 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 57 degrees at Mount Vernon. The lowest temperature is 10/ degrees at Northerly Island.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

The threat of storms will increase to a peak this evening, with
all severe hazards in play. The greatest risk is for damaging
winds, with large hail and tornadoes also posing potential risks.
Frequent deadly lightning and locally heavy rains capable of
sporadic flooding are also potential hazards.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

Lows in the upper 30s are possible this weekend, with Sunday night
perhaps the best chance for frost to develop as skies clear and
winds diminish then. These cooler temperatures and thus the 
chance of frost appears greatest along and north of the Ohio 
River.
