Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 55 degrees north, near 73 degrees central, and near 80 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, partly sunny central, and partly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 66%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 57%, and the dew point is near 57 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 55%, and the dew point is near 63 degrees. The heat index is near 81 degrees south. Winds are variable at 5 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 14 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 82 degrees at Metropolis, Marion, Lawrenceville, and Carmi. The lowest temperature is 40/ degrees at Northerly Island.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

The threat of storms will increase to a peak this evening, with
all severe hazards in play. The greatest risk is for damaging
winds, with large hail and tornadoes also posing potential risks.
Frequent deadly lightning and locally heavy rains capable of
sporadic flooding are also potential hazards.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

Lows in the upper 30s are possible this weekend, with Sunday night
perhaps the best chance for frost to develop as skies clear and
winds diminish then. These cooler temperatures and thus the 
chance of frost appears greatest along and north of the Ohio 
River.
