Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 49 degrees north and near 54 degrees south. Current sky conditions are partly sunny north and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 54%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 54 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are unavailable central. Winds are from the east at 14 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 110/ degrees at Northerly Island. The lowest temperature is 45 degrees at Waukegan.

DISCUSSION  

Strong to marginally severe storms may persist into portions of 
the area late tonight, mainly west of a Rockford to Pontiac, IL 
line.

Killer frosts were reported in the Deep South. The frost was quite severe
around Huntsville AL, and highlighted a backward spring in the South that

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
