Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 59 degrees north, near 55 degrees central, and near 62 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, cloudy central, and cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 51%, and the dew point is near 41 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 68%, and the dew point is near 45 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 51%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 13 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 16 mph with gusts at 22 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at Carmi. The lowest temperature is 49 degrees at Bloomington.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For EFFINGHAM County,IL

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

A couple isolated rumbles of thunder are possible this afternoon and
early evening. Severe thunderstorms are not expected. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Wednesday through Monday.

Look for periods of isolated to scattered thunderstorms from 
Thursday night through Sunday. Some of the storms could be severe, 
with potential for all severe threats. The greatest severe storm 
chances during the Thursday night to Sunday time frame are currently
on Friday and Friday night, along and west of the Illinois River,
and also Sunday and Sunday night across the whole area.

Excessive rainfall is possible Thursday night through Monday. Most
locations could see anywhere from 2 to 3 inches of rain through the
period. However, there is a 10-20% chance of greater than 3 inches 
of rain along and west of I-55 from Friday morning through Monday 
morning. 

Minor flooding should end along the Wabash river today, while minor
flooding along the Illinois River will continue through the week.
