Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 30 degrees north, near 44 degrees central, and near 43 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, cloudy central, and clear south. In the north, relative humidity is near 75%, and the dew point is near 23 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 73%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 79%, and the dew point is near 37 degrees. Winds are calm north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 5 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 3 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 50 degrees at Carbondale. The lowest temperature is 20/ degrees at Northerly Island.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

Thunderstorms are possible tonight. However, severe weather is not
expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday.

Occasional thunderstorms are possible Saturday through Monday night.
Isolated severe storms are possible Sunday into Sunday night, with
hail up to 1 inch the main threat. There is a better chance of severe
weather Monday night into Monday night, with damaging winds, large 
hail, and isolated tornadoes possible. Locally heavy rainfall is also
possible Monday into Monday night.

There is a 20 to 50 percent chance of freezing temperatures Tuesday 
night and Wednesday night that could damage sensitive early season 
vegetation.
