Surface 4-Panel Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Illinois Based on observations at 600pm CDT, Friday April 26, 2024 Across Illinois...temperatures are near 53 degrees north, near 64 degrees central, and near 79 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, partly sunny central, and partly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 86%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 78%, and the dew point is near 57 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 53%, and the dew point is near 61 degrees. The heat index is near 80 degrees south. Winds are from the east at 15 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 14 mph with gusts at 26 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 12 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 110/ degrees at Northerly Island. The lowest temperature is 50 degrees at Waukegan.

Showers and a few are possible at time this evening through tonight. Locally heavy rain resulting in ponding of water is possible along with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. The threat for severe storms is low, but an isolated stronger storm capable of producing damaging wind gusts or large hail cannot be ruled out. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Saturday through Thursday. Additional thunderstorms are expected Saturday through Sunday night, which may also become severe. The timing of this severe weather threat is more uncertain during this period. South winds will gust from 30 to 40 mph on Saturday and Sunday. There will be daily chances for showers and storms Monday through Thursday. At this time, it is too early to determine the threat for severe thunderstorms. SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT Spotter activation may be needed this evening.
