Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Georgia
Based on observations at 900pm EDT, Thursday March 28, 2024

Across Georgia...temperatures are near 60 degrees north, near 61 degrees central, and near 59 degrees south. Current sky conditions are clear north, clear central, and clear south. In the north, relative humidity is near 29%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 29%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 75%, and the dew point is near 51 degrees. Winds are from the north at 8 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are calm south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 64 degrees at Saint Simons, Columbus, and Augusta (Daniels). The lowest temperature is 54 degrees at Augusta (Bush).

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight  

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

A Fire Danger Statement is in effect this afternoon and early 
evening across much of north and central Georgia due to low 
relative humidity, breezy conditions, and dry fuels.

Areas of frost are possible across extreme northeast Georgia, and
a Frost Advisory is in effect for that area late tonight and early
Friday morning. Patchy frost is possible across other areas of
north Georgia, but coverage and duration is not expected to
warrant an advisory at this time. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday  

A chance for showers and thunderstorms is expected on Tuesday and
Wednesday.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
