Across Georgia...temperatures are near 59 degrees north, near 62 degrees central, and near 66 degrees south. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny north, mostly sunny central, and sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 28%, and the dew point is near 26 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 57%, and the dew point is near 47 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 65%, and the dew point is near 54 degrees. Winds are from the north at 13 mph with gusts at 28 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at Valdosta. The lowest temperature is 53 degrees at Dalton.

A Fire Danger Statement is in effect this afternoon and early 
evening across a portion of northeast Georgia due to low relative 
humidity, breezy conditions, and dry fuels.


 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday  

A chance for showers and thunderstorms is expected on Tuesday and
Wednesday.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
