.KEY MESSAGES...

- Accumulating snow and minor travel impacts across the northern
  mountains through Friday night. More significant accumulations 
  in the Rabbit Ears Pass and Park Range, and lighter 
  accumulations in the I-70 Mountain Corridor. 

- A few showers spill onto the plains today and tonight.

- Next storm system late Sunday into Monday night with mountain
  snow, and a mix of rain and snow likely for the plains. Mostly
  light precipitation amounts are expected but there could be some
  travel impacts for the mountains and higher elevation foothills.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Colorado
Based on observations at 400am MDT, Friday March 29, 2024

Across Colorado...temperatures are near 48 degrees west, near 38 degrees central, and near 34 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, mostly cloudy central, and fair east. In the west, relative humidity is near 56%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 57%, and the dew point is near 24 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 82%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. Winds are from the northeast at 5 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northeast at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 3 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 54 degrees at FORT CARSON. The lowest temperature is 21 degrees at WOLF CREEK PAS.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For GARFIELD County,CO

355 AM MDT Fri Mar 29 2024

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight

Narrow moderate to heavy snow bands will continue impact portions
of northern Utah and Colorado this morning with snowfall rates
in excess of an inch per hour. Mountain snowfall also continues
over much of the northern and central mountains through the
tomorrow morning. Travel will be impacted at times in the heavy
snow but especially during the overnight hours when snow is more
likely to accumulate on roadways. A few isolated strikes of
lightning will also be possible this afternoon. 


 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

Mountain snow and a mix of valley rain and snow will be possible
each day from late tomorrow afternoon through Tuesday. The
arrival of the next bigger storm looks to be Sunday into Monday. 
Overall significant accumulations will occur in the mountains 
through this timeframe but the main impacts will continue to be 
during the overnight hours when snow will accumulate on roadways.
Gusty winds will also develop Saturday afternoon with gusts over
40 mph possible over much of southern and central portions of Utah
and Colorado. Isolated thunderstorm development will be possible 
in the afternoons as well.

 SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT  

Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however
spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts to the
National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
