.SYNOPSIS... 
A weather system moving across the Desert Southwest 
today will result in enhanced winds as well as chances for showers, 
mainly across the higher terrain areas north and east of Phoenix. 
Any rainfall amounts will remain very light. Temperatures will 
continue to run below normal through Saturday before a strong 
warming trend ensues beginning on Sunday and continuing into early 
next week.

Across Arizona...temperatures are near 53 degrees north, near 45 degrees central, and near 55 degrees south. Current sky conditions are clear north, clear central, and clear south. In the north, relative humidity is near 46%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 60%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 35 degrees. Winds are from the south at 6 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 3 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 8 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at PHOENIX and BULLHEAD CITY. The lowest temperature is 30 degrees at FLAGSTAFF.

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
